Do you think the people who work on a port are the same people who'd be developing a whole new game? I'm sure there's some overlap, but for the most part it's highly unlikely that the development of a new game is held back much by either of the new versions of Skyrim.

and keep in mind, Beth doesn't usually announce a game till a few months before release. I've never understood all the secrecy, but that's how the do things.

Also keep in mind that Skyrim wasn't their last big budget release, Fallout 4 was. That's only 1.5 years old, so it's hardly as if they've been sitting on their hands since Skyrim's release.

With all the porting, I wish they'd start making proper PC ports of their games.
I'm looking at you, company who have had nothing but broken console UIs in every game they've made since Morrowind.

I am a horrible horrible heretic who likes it more than Morrowind
Speaking of Morrowind and milking TES, I have no idea how BethSoft hasn't done an official remake of it yet in their modern engines. If you could have all the great things from Morrowind (rpg systems, lore, story, characters, atmosphere, overall weirdness) brought into their more immersive sim-y engine (better combat, better stealth, radiant ai, being able to put a bucket on someone's head to block their LOS) it would be like printing money.

The better stealth alone makes me all for this, as Morrowind stealth system is kind of crap imo, making playing a stealth character just not fun for me compared to Oblivion and Skyrim. The combat I don't mind though as much as other people, funny enough, though the accurate attack mod does make it more enjoyable.
Maybe, if that Creation Guild thing does actually work and not turn out to be another attempt at paid mods but stuff actually worth paying for, they will give a team the budget to just do a full on remake of Morrowind in the Skyrim engine.

Plus it's not even just Bethesda milking it for all its worth, it's youtubers too. Some of them make more videos on Skyrim a game that's 6 years old opposed to Fallout 4 which only came out 2 years ago.
I mean it's alright to love a game but to shove it down everyones throats is just so damn annoying!
Thirith on 12/7/2017 at 06:18
I can understand that it might annoy you if a channel becomes All Skyrim All The Time, but YouTube videos generally being something that you can choose not to watch, I don't quite see how anyone is shoving anything down your throat.
