I have almost bought DX about 15 times now but always found something else to buy, as i am not exactly rich. Although usually the game i get is a complete waste of my hard earned money, *points to rogue spear in disgust!*. By reading a few of these posts, i'm guessing its worth the 30 dollars and as long as I can use stealth for most of it, I'm sure it'll go up on my top 5 list, right beside thief.
So basicly, my questions are... is it possible to beat the game using stealth?? I loved half life for the storyline, but stealth was non existant. And How close to half life is DX??
Thanks.

Although there's lots of heavy firepower available, and the frontal assault direct approach is a valid option, it's certainly not the only option. Deus Ex heavily rewards stealth.

And How close to half life is DX??Aside from both of them being Science Fiction Role-Playing First Person Shooters set in a near future where The Government is not always your friend? That's about it. Deus Ex gives you Options. It's not about figuring out how to get past each puzzle as much as it is about exploring the available possibilities and choosing which ones you want to deal with. You have a main goal and some secondary (optional) goals and exactly how you want to go about accomplishing them is up to you.
If you wished Half-Life had more story, more interaction, more role-playing, more stealth, and more options, Deus Ex is the game you're looking for. Definitely not a waste of money.

The first part of the game (AFTER Libery Island, mind you) is probably the most entertaining. I think, at least. It's the best developed and realized. In Hell's Kitchen there's just so much to do and so many places to look around. It's just as fun the rest of the game, but the shock value sorta wears down.
Personally, I can't play DX stealthily. I sort of mix together styles that would make the ideal sci-fi badass.
