I just started playing Deus Ex - Invisible War today and I am absolutely positively surprised. There is a really great game hidden beneath all the minor problems (which didn't seem like minor at first, though, but they are renderd minor once the true Deus Ex style gameplay kicks off). Of course I applied the 1.1 patch, but didn't do any further tweaks.
And just now I invented
grate jumping! :D It's kind of like rocket jumping or that climbing walls with the help of LAMs thing I've never tried. Here's how it works:
1. Firstly you need to have a grate in the ceiling that opens to a ventilation duct with climbable walls, and the climbable walls must be out of reach for a normal jump. Like this (I'm standing on a staircase in the inclinator or whatever that place was called):

This whole thing reminds me of how Baron Munchausen pulled himself (and his horse) out of a swamp by grabbing his own pony tail :D

This was also possible in the original DX. Used this method to escape the complex in HK without setting off a single alarm. All the AI were oblivious to my actions.
[spoiler]Climbing the grate above the virus upload area. Normally the alarm triggers when you leave this space, but if you super jump up to the grate and close it, lifting you up, you can walk out peacefully
