I have the game... - by LordMatt

But it doesn't run on my laptop (1gb ram, ATI Radeon x1600). I am planning on building my own P.C. in December...the specs follow...
1) Intel Celeron E1200 Dual Core
2) ATI Radeon 2600xt 512MB GDDR3
3) 2GB DDR2 RAM
4)750GB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPMS)
5) 430w Power Supply
Do these specs allow the game to run in a good enough condition where i won't get pissed off every 2 secs about lags and crashing?
Thanks ahead of time for the help,

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you are going for the Celeron? They are not known for their gaming prowess, so unless you are trying to save money you might consider getting something else (that said I don't know for sure that that specific celeron is a bad chip).

I'm not sure about those two points. I can say that with Radeon 9800Pro 128Mb and Pentium 4 2.4Ghz the game was fine in static lighting mode with 50-75% texture quality and 50-75% drawing distance, and
with Radeon HD3870 512Mb and Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz it's fine in full dynamic mode with all on max.
I would recommend to get any C2D and at least Radeon HD3850 for you to be able to run upcoming prequel also with nice graphics settings. Take note that you can get a new 4850 quite cheap now (at least relatively cheap), the thing is one of the fastest cards and has the best price/performance ratio on market currently among high performance cards, HD4000 is the best series of ATI since 9000.

The fact is that I am trying to save money...I have currently a Pentium 4 1.6Ghz processor with a ATI Radeon 9550 AGP 128MB video card. This is a significant upgrade to what i have now, so...the answer to your question is...yes, i am trying to save money.

The same thing...I am trying to save money. Don't worry...I have thoroughly looked at the 3850, 3870, 4850, and 4870. However, I am under a budget if $250 and the best PCIE cards i can get for decent money are the 2600xt (for $40) or the 3650 (for $50). So unfortunately the 3850, 3870, 4850, and 4870 are out of the question...maybe in a year or two, who knows...
Thanks,

I'd go with the HD3650, without a doubt.
