The glint is an emitter that is attached to the loot(you can see it in the actor browser under FX -> Emitters). If you place some loot in your mission you will see those 5 coloured shapes surrounding it like you do with lights. All you do is click on the emitter and delete it.

WOW!! That's great!

The MP AFAIK reduced it already. However, I do wonder if its a good idea to get rid of it completely (although that could be decided by the author). TDS doesn't have this comic-like bright golden/silver texture for everything valueable that TDP/TMA had.
Anyway, thanks for pointing out that the emitter symbol only referred to the loot glint and nothing else. :)

When taking screenshots of the Kurshok Crown, I had to delete all the attached emitters to get rid of the steam effect so the Crown's details could be seen. I was surprised at how many things were attached to it. :)
If the loot glint could be triggered by proximity, like frob highlight, so a player can't just enter a room and wait for the glint to wave "Here I am!", it would be less magical and comic. If the mission builder wouldn't put loot up high where the player can't see it, except for the corona and sparkle that tells the player something is up there, even though it's outside the line of sight, it would be less magical.

There were many loot items in TDP/TMA that had no metallic anything to indicate value, so I don't know about that.
Does the minimalist project let the user dial up the level of glint or create conditions?

I'd never place gems upon the eyes of a person in a painting. :weird: Anyway, I'm sure deleting it completely will result in a lot of junk throwing by the players. Or they'd have to get used to looking for the tiny ornaments which loot objects have.

I never really said anything against it, I just meant that it might make things even harder than in TDP/TMA. I'll see if I can remove most of the loot glint in my mission as well, but it might still be useful on occasion.

If you do pick up the wrong item then there is the possibility that dropping it will alert a passing guard which only adds to the tension, in my opinion.
Exactly! Loot glint annoys me completely. To me, the glint takes away one of the things I enjoy most about T1/2, loot hunting. And, I love that "Aw, CRAP!" feeling when I drop a junk item and someone hears it then comes looking for me. It's all part of the Thief experience for me. Also, I find that loot glint really decreases replayability for me. Without glint, when I replay a mission after not seeing it for a while, I get to find everything all over again!

I removed it completely from the T3EnhancEd editor....or had planned to. Not sure if I had gotten around to it.
