I have all the requirements + and it seems to lag horrifically right when i start Morrowwind! Can anyone help me?

If you're running XP then bring up the task manager (ctrl + alt + delete) and click the Processes tab. Sort it by User Name, and find all the processes being run by you. Close all the unneeded ones (pretty much everything except the rundll's.) Also, close Explorer.exe if you want it to run even faster, but if you do this you'll have to go to File > New Task in the Task Manager and then search for the Morrowind Launcher.

Should This help, considering my lag is the type of lag where you can barely move...
Uppity on 24/11/2003 at 01:12
Errr, I did it and it still lags horribly. I really want to play this game and I am not understanding why its not working, I have G Force 4 1798 MHZ tons of gbz all the rments....
A little more help if possible?

What are "gbz" and does "rments" mean "requirements"?
Some of us don't speak English and get really confused when people make up contractions and abbreviations.

I speak English and American and I'm still clueless. I have a Geforce 2 MX, 1.8Ghz, 512MB SDRam, 55GB HD (30GB free).
Another tip! Play the game at 800 x 600 or less. You can do this by going into Options on the Morrowind Launcher and changing the resolution. While in the game, go to options and try putting all the extra stuff down (view distance, shadows, AI distance, etc.)

GeForce 4 (probably crappy MX), 1800mhz processor (perhaps Celeron?), "tons of gigabytes" (gbz), "all the requirements" (rments) Whatever.
With Morrowind you never really can have a strong enough system! But you should be able to do better than barely moving. Have you loaded tons of mods? Do you have tons of applications running in the background? Are you insisting on playing at high resolutions with full shadows and draw distance and such? Have you updated your GeForce Detonator drivers within the past 3-6 months? What about your sound card - have you tried turning the sound completely off (not just low volume, but "sound off"?)? Are you getting great framerates in other high end 3D games?

You don't have the intelligence requirement to play morrowind.

I had the same problem... Perhaps your computer is filled with spywares-dataminers-viruses.
Get "lavasoft ad-aware" from download.com, and sweep your computer. Get also a good, updated antivirus and try a cleanup. And, please, stop downloading goat porn videos with kazaa and Imesh, these programs will fill your computer with shit...
