It's not like Manson always had willing girls on his hands. In 1952 he was convicted for raping a boy while holding a razor to his throat.
In 1967 he had just been released from a 10 years prison term and didn't have any of his "family" yet.
So while she obviously has a motive to make that false claim it's not as unlikely as you people make it sound.
