Aaron : I heard that Kanye wasn't even allowed to be at the Haiti benefit.
Jill : probably a good thing, he doesn't seem to be able to behave in public
Jenna : I have sooo much to say about Kanye West.
Aaron : Jenna, imma, imma let you finish. But Haiti had one of the BEST EARTHQUAKES OF ALL TIME.
Jenna : Hahahahahaha he's a loser.
Brady : haha what a fag haha
Kevin : ban Kanye to a deserted island..
Jenna : No way, put him on the moon.
Monica : I'm sorry but isn't America suffering enough w/o having to feel pressured to take care of Haiti?
David : Wait Aaron....Imma, Imma let you finish. But Hurricane Katrina was the BEST DISASTER OF ALL TIME!!!
Kayla : hes a piece of shit i i dont care at alll about kanye:) hes a bitch
John : Kanye... West... Doesn't... Care... About... Black... People...
Peter : Wait Aaron, Imma let you finish, but Gilligan's Island was the most f'ed up Island Situation of all time!
Jenna : I'm in the same boat as Monica...
It's not like we're about to go into a deep depression...and Obama wants to buy Haiti? For what? There isn't really a reason to buy Haiti except it's bordering Cuba, but that's only going to make tensions worse if we take over Haiti.
I hate politics.
Kevin : excellent point Jenna...
Mandy : yeah, Kanye would probably try to take the spotlight, or attempt to put all the Hatians in silly sunglasses and scarves. . . checkered ones. . . with his name on them. .
Brandon : good i hate that asshole
Me : You people and your hatred! =P
I think Kanye's thinking was a little immature, but what he did was also romantic in a certain aspect, standing up for Beyonce. He made himself look like a total idiot for her, he didn't stop to think about the outcome, but maybe he did and just didn't care. Reguardless what he did wasn't SO bad, he didn't say that Taylor 'didn't' deserve the reward, and in fact made it perfectly clear that he was very happy for her, all he said was that Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. I think you people are over-reacting. Imagine being in his, or Beyonce's shoes. To everyone else it looks foolish, but to them it was probably an act of love, or hope for a piece of ass.
As far as the US helping Haiti, I think it's an amazing effort. Even though our country is in less than perfect, or rather horrible shape, is it so bad to help others who just had their homes and families smashed and destroyed? I think it's one of the best times for us to help out our fellow humans in need. We may not be financially pristine, but our efforts to help others in the current situation says a lot for the priorities of the people in charge. In my eyes, that's a good thing. I value human lives and companionship MUCH more than money and luxury. If you disagree, I hope you find yourself in the presence of your own kind in times of need.
This kind of talk just makes me wonder what citizens in other countries feel about the whole Haiti event. I mean, these people post this shit on facebook, so it must be their whole-hearted opinions. I can't believe people can be so unceremonious, discourteous, and dare I? Boorish, to put their own pockets before the lives of OTHER HUMABN BEINGS. And children nonetheless, homeless, now orphan, children.

This just in: Facebook discussion now the thermometer for world opinions, takes over from You Tube comments. In response You Tube comments had this to say: "u nigg bich f u u dont no wat yur talking about".
Its a historic day that will be remembered for all time.

It is just that. People basically wondering why the US is helping Haiti. My question is, are these people idiots? Or is there something I'm missing. The US isn't the only country helping Haiti, but I wouldn't doubt if it's the only one where non-racist citizens are questioning the relief efforts their country is offering. It's not just facebook peeps, there are public forms and articles all over the internet where Americans are puzzled as to why we're offering aid to Haiti. They are saying things like "What is Obama thinking", which really makes me question the sanity of these people.

Ok - I have to say, I do think the Kayne West stuff is a wee bit humorous, even if it is over played. As to the rest, I really like what you have to say about the US helping out Haiti. As for the other posters, I'm not certain of their age group, but it just seems as they are under informed. Buy Haiti... :nono: but don't think it has to do with them being Americans - rather them being ignorant. (or perhaps very immature.) The US doesn't exactly have the corner of that market, no matter what the common world opinion seems to be.

But how many people in the States are aware of this fact?
That the Sword And Shield of the world are not the only country capable?

Arguing over who gives money is pointless. Volunteer.
These people don't need your money. They need houses. They need zoning laws that provide sanitation. I've volunteered in the Dominican Republic (which, obviously, neighbors Haiti) and I can tell you flat-out that Haiti was a horrible country long before this earthquake. Corrupt politicians, corrupt revolutionaries, and ultimately, corrupt citizenry, even. One short flight across the Gulf of Mexico will open your eyes forever.

I'm assuming most of these people are flabbergasted that we're offering outside aid while being in the midst of our own "crisis". While things do suck a bit, they suck only on a relative scale to, say, where we were 10 years ago. Despite the recession, we're still an industrial and financial giant backed by one of the worlds most powerful economies. Obama refusing aid to a country in desperate need simply because of our comparatively small problems would be the stupid, selfish, and irresponsible move here.

Umm, maybe because some of us thought it was our job to give our money to Haiti, not the government's job to give our money to Haiti for us
