I started a new game, using "only" PSI (on Normal - I'm a wimp) - but that just means to me - no Weapons skills. I am using Hack and Research, and plenty-O-wrenching.
Anyways, I got physically stuck in the hall just outside the elevator on Deck 5 (in the little sloped sides), and happened to quick save while stuck like that! :mad:
My most-recent "perma-save" is about 2 hours back. I didn't really want to replay all of that! So... I searched this forum and found this thread.
A lifesaver! That command worked fine and sent me to reclaim so I could continue.
If anyone else uses it - don't forget to take off your armor first so you die faster. :)

It is risky in SS2 at least, I have played games that have a pretty solid quick saving system, like Doom 3 engine games.

Quicksaving is no problem unless you forget to re-bind it to use a proper save slot rather than the autosave.
