And when I say stuck I mean really stuck as in I'm not going anywhere kind of stuck.
Go to the command deck. Take the train up the end to the officer's lounge area. When you get to the officer's lounge take a right and head towards the escape pods. Before entering the escape pods area there is a ladder on the right that you can take down. There's a regeneration unit down there. Go down to the bottom area where there are boxes in some water. Now go over to the pipes against the wall. Climb up on the bottom pipe. Go to the end of the pipe and you can climb up on the shelf. Now turn and climb up on to the top shelf. Now go to the end and you will see a shelf very high up. You can climb up on it ... and when you do you will drop right down into a BLACK HOLE, and that's where you'll be staying, forever.

Ah..yeah. I think I've heard of this happening before :/
Luckily you've got a recent save near there and didn't just base everything on a successive burst of quick-saves, though, right?

If you a) activated the regen unit, and b) have a grenade launcher and ammo, you know what you gotta do.

How do you summon a ladder? Never heard of that.

You can go to one of those cheatsites and find the command to summon ladders.
