I guess this forum would be full of spoilers, so I'm picking only rare topics.
I got it today and just played a bit (well, 2 hours) -- In a simple word: whow!
Either these are very good graphics or I have missed some state-of-the-art progression the last years. (I guess the latter one).
With blur the very first room looked amazing - but then I turned the effects down as (you all might guess) I also had a bad performance (patch 1.2 is being downloaded as I type this).
Finally again a game that hooks me from the very first second with it's story (which I still don't grasp -- I got already 4 people talking different things on me).
Gosh, I even tilt a chair when I just ran against it...

I assume you mean 'Bloom' not 'Blur' ;) If you think the graphics are good you should get the textures pack (do a search on this forum), but not if your pc isn't so good, it can double load times on lower spec pcs :erm:

Really? interesting - well - I'm not that deep into graphics, I'm more into the story :)
I was just amazed on how detailed everything becomes these days (shadows, physics, sound, ...) with Doom3 still somewhere at the horizon...

Personally I find it more fun without the texture pack, as although the pack does look better it also makes the levels load slower, which just isn't worth it (IMO). (I like my < 10 sec loading times ...)
BTW, you'll find the first few rooms perform far worse then the rest of the game, so don't be too quick to turn your settings down.

Right - additionally I've gotten myself the newest driver for my card plus the 1.2 patch - The game is running quite decent now although I still have some minor slowdowns in large areas...
Meanwhile I've made it to Egypt...
