what does "tapers" mean? so what if i took it sideways?
ferret on 2/11/2002 at 17:37
'Tapers' kind of means 'thins to a point', if you will. I think he was jokingly referring to the way it isn't very sharp.
That is impressive, though. A friend of mine went as the Grim Reaper from Terry Pratchett novels (scythe, cloak and everything, although he didn't have a fake horse called Binky. He could have got a fake horse, head-on-a-pole jobby like in Monty Python and the Holy Grail). That was the best costume I saw this year. I was told I should go as a vampire, but I thought I would give the whole thing a miss. :D

I was just wondering, don't get me wrong - I'm not knocking you, but what has deus ex got to do with hallowe'en (Samhain). Have all celebrations gotten that comercial now. Does anyone remember the true meaning of these celebrations?
ferret on 16/11/2002 at 17:01
Of course we do. #insert_public_festical_celebration_here# was originally #insert_pagan_ritual_here# to celebrate #insert_outmoded_worship_system_here. It was adopted by #insert_recent_religion_here as it's own, and is now fully commercialised.
