Our (

42% - I don't have enough time
23% - I'm just lazy
17% - I'd forget to turn it off
12% - I change lanes too frequently to bother
11% - it is not important
08% - other drivers don't
07% - it adds excitement to driving ¬¬
I'm pretty disgusted, but not particularly surprised. No speed camera in the world can correct this kind of apathy for omitting what I've always thought of as a fundamental part of driving safely and swiftly.
Interestingly, no respondee cited Cameron Diaz as a contributing factor

Not indicating is one of the things that bugs me most when driving, especially on roundabouts. We're not psychic, we need to know where the fuck you're going!
Talking of roundabouts there are a couple of large roundabouts here in the city that people think they can take the right hand exit from the left hand lane and promptly cutting up everyone who's doing it properly.
fs, there should be a harder driving test.

The purpose of changing lanes and turning is to advise other drivers that you are about to signal... maybe.

The only thing that bothers me more than assholes not using their turn signals is cops not using their turn signals.
As a cyclist, I often have to rely on signals to know wtf drivers are doing, whether they have the right of way or not. Of course, it's about 50-50, so either they mean to turn and don't signal (in which case I'm in danger) or they're not turning at all (in which case I have to assume that they are turning, and not signally), which means 100% of the time I have to ride extremely defensively, even when I have the right of way. Because no matter how right I am, in a collision, a Suburban always wins.

This has been my pet peeve on the road for years.
The best ones are those who barely signal once; you know, the sort of a 'partial blink', done as quickly as possible probably hoping that no-one actually sees that they signalled (and when their car's already half way on the other lane, of course). What's with that? I mean what in the hell can these dolts be thinking? What's the reasoning for such a bizarre behavior? It's sort of like an 'embarrased blink'. If you're going to signal, then why not signal properly? Even not signalling at all makes more sense compared to this delayed-microsecond-long signal, for chrissakes.
HELLO! HELLO! YOUR CAR IS ALREADY MOVING! I CAN SEE THAT! THE WHOLE POINT OF USING THE BLINKER IS TO LET OTHER PEOPLE KNOW IN ADVANCE WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO DO, YOU MORON!
Sigh. There goes my blood pressure.
What are these people afraid of? That using the signal will shorten their dicks or what?

U MEAN IT DOESN'T ??!
In the city where I live, not signalling anything is so common that most of the time, when you drive well and signal and all, you are immediately classified as a stupid middle-to-high class prick who deserves severe honking. Yes sir.

In my defense, there's an expensive circuit board deep in the recesses of my dashboard that's broken, so my signals glitch out at random intervals.

In conclusion:
100% - Im a lazy asshole who doesn't care about my life nor lives of other people on the road
Omega on 16/3/2006 at 11:22
Oh yeah.. something that I find really annoying too. If you're going to exit a roundabout at ¾, indicate this (the left signal light) before you're even on the damn thing. I can never get this message through my dad's head. :p
