I got stiffed once on Ebay, when I had to pay by cheque rather than Paypal and never received the item in question (£65, mind you). Ebay weren't especially helpful in trying to retrieve the money either, but it wasn't helped that the seller closed his account shortly thereafter. He'd had a 100% rating for several hundred transactions too.
Moral of story = Ebay only seem to care when Paypal is involved, so now I use that.

I would generally say anyone who doesn't accept PayPal is a dodgy vendor to be avoided. I know some people dislike PayPal because of the fees that the seller has to pay, but the thing about PayPal is that it's guaranteed. If the seller doesn't come through, you get your money back.

Agreed. I think Paypal is now required by Ebay for a lot of listing types, so that does help matters.

And who owns paypal. Ebay.
Hate that paypal is required for all purchases on there now.

I know they are. As I'm a buyer rather than a seller, I prefer it that way. :)

Would you rather that no sensible buyer will touch your listings with a barge pole, because you don't accept PayPal?

I just want to know what all that "゚Д゚||| ・∀・ ´∀`" line noise is in the original post. It's as if the legions of Emoticon Hell personally rose up to deliver fresh torment upon the internet.

I suspect the Д and ∀ characters are supposed to be noses with the other characters making up the rest of a head. Very happy to be wrong about that though.

There, I fixed it for you. The damn thing was annoying me too (notice that I did keep the original bad spelling, as it seems to be a fair enough warning about the contents of the thread).

They're anime-style emoticons, iirc. Kind of like this one: ^_^
The Д is supposed to be a mouth open in surprise. I think ∀ is a nose, but I'm not sure.
