So yeah, I've been trying to install some of the older games like Rayman, System Shock 2, Settlers3, Escape From Monkey Island etc but the problem is that for some reason my PC hates 16-bit applications and crashes when I try to run them, so I cannot install the games because their setup programs are 16-bit applications. Please someone help... I have tried every possible fix for the wowexec.exe -thing (it says that 16-bit subsystem somethingsomething wowexec.exe etc etc, when it crashes) but nothing seems to work.

What is your operating system? 16-bit support has been removed from 64-bit Windows.
I know for a fact that SS2/T1/T2 have 32-bit installers, as they run fine under my primary OS, XP x64.
If you're trying to install DOS games, then I recommend trying Dosbox to do so.

Sorry, but you are little bit wrong.
SS2/T1/T2 includes both 16/32-bit installation programs (they are based on old InstallShield-program). 16-bit one is started first and if 32-bit OS is detected then 32-bit installer is extracted and launched.
That's why some people have difficulties to start installation process of these games.
I wonder if 16-bit subsystem is really removed from WinXP 64-bit or it does have some detection code for old 16/32-bit InstallShield setup programs, so whenever said program is launched, only 32-bit part of it is started. :weird:

My OS is Win XP Home 32-bit.
And some of the games/applications that refuse to run are not dos applications, so using DosBox is out of the question.
I can run some of the games by installing them on my older PC, then copying them via LAN, but that doesn't always work.
One strange thing is that I had managed to install SS2 before on the same PC, but I had uninstalled it and when I try to re-install it, the setup crashes.

I'm not sure about XP x64, but Vista x64 absolutely will not run 16 bit applications.
You can manually start the 32-bit installer in most cases, assuming there is one.
So far the only game I've had a problem with was the Hellfire expansion of Diablo; the expansion installed, but I couldn't patch it, because the patch program for Hellfire was 16-bit.
Oh, and Star Control 3, that's a 16-bit program. No luck there.

I had XP 64-bit previously and although I had problems running many 16bit apps, LGS games were installing smoothly (with the -lgntforce command of course).
Once I read on MS site that 64bit XPs are trying to "convert" a 16bit installer to a 32bit one once you execute it, but apparently it didn't work for me in most cases.

Nope. Those fixes haven't worked for me. Weird.
