When I'm in the snake's trial...
...I get the "shoot to the snake's swords aim" part and the "reveal the
'true' switch"... then I get to a room where is six(6) switches and up in some
stairs a globe which reveal the true room of the six(6)...
...That is the playce wher I can't get through! Why? I asked my friend
who could manage it! My friend said that I have to 'use' the 'true' switch
six(6) times... ...but it doesn't work! How can I make the
portcullis open and get to the so called 'Mirror's room'??????????????????????
Please help me guys! I wanna' continue ArX Fatalis! (I began a new
character and nor with the new I couldn't pass the 'Snake's test'!!!
:tsktsk:  :erg: :nono:

Okay heres the trick. You need to drop an item in each room near the switch. Then look in the globe and it will show you a switch room with your item in it. Hit that switch and then go back to the globe and repeat. Once all switches are hit in the correct order, the gate opens. Hope this helps!

That's what i did only this morning but nothing happened! I'll try again later.
BTW, any tips for killing those fast, armor-cladded guys? The snake women were easy compared to these buggers! They are way too fast!

The fireball spell makes them alot easier to handle. One of those and a sword should do nicely. Otherwise try 2 and a sword..lol.

Are you sure about that? :cheeky: I created three fireball spells and saved them for when i needed them. I go into their territory and release all three of them at only one of those guys and nothing! Those guys seem invincible, which is strange, because that guy who guarded that door in the Tavern, (the one you needed a password to enter), died from only one fireball spell! I guess he just didn't expect it and was easier to kill.
I did manage to kill the first two that guard the entrance to Akbaa's lair, (at least i think it's Akbaa's lair, as it's far too dangerous to enter, since there's loads of them damn guys inside), but that was by levitating up onto a rock and slicing them from a safe distance! :ebil: As for all those in the lair, i think i'm stuffed! :o
This game is a real challenge, and is a nice detour from the usual games that i like to play. I've actually had the game for a while now, but only recently started playing it!
The puzzles are crazy, in a good way of course! I'm stuck with that one where you guide a Golem to a floor switch. There's about 3 levers in there and a number panel. I tried entering 113 and 131 IIRC, but nothing happened, and i don't know what that panel is actually for!
It's not without it's problems though, is it? I got me some dead guys that stand on their feet, some areas have weird clipping errors, some doors i unpicked earlier become locked again, killing someone when nobody should have known about it, gets you attacked, etc, etc. Oh yeah, there was that issue with some white objects, but i got that patch for that and that's fixed now. :D
It's a great game though and alot of thought has obviously gone into it. I don't know why i never played it earlier! :o Oh yeah, probably due to it running a tad slow on my older cards.

As far as the Ysildes are concerned, I found that the best way to dodge them is to strafe when they charge. If possible, try and sneak up to them first and cast incinerate on them which will quickly wither down their health points. Negate magic is also said to disable their speed-up ability.
Your second question really belongs in a thread all of it's own, but you should be able to find what you need in Biohazard's post down the bottom of this thread.

Thanks Twisty. Although sneaking is a tad difficult when you're wearing a ton of steel armor that makes alot of noise! Maybe i should strip off? Man, trying to use Negate magic, fireball spells, dodging and swinging my sword, all at the same bloody time, is quite a feat! I could use some tools from the Thief games here! A few gas arrows would be nice!
Edit: Can you control your height whilst in Levitate mode? I don't seem to be able to get onto some ledges because of my legs! Hmm, i'll try jumping first!

If you don't mind some cheese, Yslides can't climb very well. If you jump up on one of the rocks outside their area, or inside in the back room there's some chests with spikes above sticking out of the wall that you can jump up on to.
From those vantage points you can usually manage to pound away at them with a sword from a spot where they can't hit back.

No, unfortunately the spell only allows horizontal movement.

Fortunately, one can find another way across, by standing on higher parts of the terrain, such as those spikey rock formations.
I killed the Ice Dragon, (with my sword only), chopping at it whilst it was behind that (
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i133/SluggsUK/icedragon.jpg) needle, grabbed it's eggs, (after i thought of using Telekinesis of course), and it's bones, (i'm thinking i may require them later), then went back onto the Golem puzzle. I had only to close those double doors behind me, to open the other, didn't i? :eww: Now i gotta make me a sword somehow. I wonder if those fast guys will be easier with that sword? Nah, i bet i'll have to get by them before i can make that sword to destroy the chunk of space rock. :eww:
If i kill anyone important here, will the game tell me so? I went a bit postal in the City of Arx and even killed the King! :ebil: That was due to those fast guys pissing me off! :o
I do have previous saves of my adventures before going postal in the City, so it won't be too bad. :D They are also backed up on a DVD.
Oh yeah, that key ring came in handy. I had like 20 keys in my inventory until i found that thing! That's a very useful item!
