And remember--if the pin drops down fast, it'll most likely drop down slow on the next drop. Thanks to whoever it was that told me that one, it really helped!
(Now maybe if someone could teach me how the hell persuasion works...)

Find out which ones the guys like, they hate two responses, and like two. You want to hit the like ones when the bars are full on them and the hate ones when they are low. You can move the bar once but only once per persuasion effort. Bribing works the same as in morrowind but is now guarenteed to work.

Just to clarify, you can only rotate the pieces if you have achieved a certain level in Speechcraft.

Aye. I'm still no good at it. Perhaps my speechcraft is still too low. Anyway, as an Imperial, I usually just use my Voice of the Emperor.

I'm no good... Swaying blade is definitely not one of my hobbies:) . So I guess I'll try my best in sneaking...

Thats how I do it, not sure how well it works but it keeps me calm, sometimes when I am impatient I try it without using the system and break like 30 lockpicks (I did actaully do that once). Now I can do very hard locks without breaking a pick, of course when I do I get impatient and break a few, but so far I have managed to keep my locks picked:lockpicks broken ratio to a fairly reputable standard.
For speechcraft, high skill does make alot of difference, when you have apprentice level the free rotate is invaluable, basically all you have to do in the game is make sure you make the like and dislike have lots of effect and the dislike very little, it takes very little planning but as long as you do a decent job then you shouldn't worry about the "perfect" solution. And always try to remember which they like and dislike at the start because you can't find out while they are talking and lose disposition while you are waiting for them to finish, practice makes perfect.

I'm actually making progress on persuading. Now I can have a general upward trend!
Pisces, you and I have identical lock-picking methodologies. I can't tell you how many times I've picked a hard lock and lost only one lockpick, then a minute later attempted an average lock--only to lose patience and waste about ten.
Since this isn't the spoiler forum, I'll just say that Nocturnal's Daedric shrine is invaluable for thieves and must be done ASAP! In fact, it's invaluable to just about anyone. The stat boost is crazy...

I thought it was abit game breaking, I did it on my battlemage because he can open most of the locks by spell anyway, and I can do the mini game well enough that I could do very hard locks without breaking too many picks. However once I got the skeleton key I suddenly open locks even without our system! I had around 35 security, a apprentice, the poof instant journeyman
I made a promise my theif/ranger character won't do that shrine until she has 100 security then I'll do it then display the skeleton key at my house, with 100 security who needs it anyway.
Ha, I worked out how to put a spoiler without making a new line, huraah for me.

Not that slow, though... It's the next after the slower one that is really slow.. :)

I didn't figure out how to make a spoiler without setting it off until I became a mod and could edit people's posts... For those interested, it's just (spoil)(/spoil), no -er!
I went ahead and got the skeleton key, but only because my security is around 60. At that point, you're guaranteed to open any lock with enough patience. I just didn't want to be spending 600 gold on 100 new lockpicks every month or so.
