I can't look at my own user profile, or anyones, and I can't vote in polls. Does my account need to be reactivated or something?

It should be OK now. A year or so ago, emails were sent to users who hadn't been online for quite a long time and anyone not replying was placed in a holding pen - but you've been liberated now.
