Right, I have one saved game in Arx Fatalis, and I cannot make another. Has anyone encountered this problem before?

Hoo boy, that was a grammar error Strong Bad would not have ever let me forget. Anyway, I solved the problem. In case anyone else ever has the same problem, the solution is to delete any empty folders in your saved game directory. Back up the whole saved game folder first, of course.

I had a similar problem with saved games. As everyone well knows, the quicksave function alternates between two saves (which is a Good Thing). Anyway, at some point during the play I did a regular save and named it with only one letter ("q" or something like that - can't remember anymore). It seems that Arx didn't like this - the save function did work alright, but the quicksave started to alternate between the other one of the quicksave slots and that newly saved regular save. The other quicksave slot was completely ignored.
Weird.
After overwriting the regular save with one having a longer name quicksaving worked normally again.
