With or without leggings, I can walk in the fireplace of the keep (as well as in the other small fires outside) without any harm. I think I should be screaming/burning/suffering...

The fireplace in the tavern is a fake, anyway. Just notice how the chains float ;)
The fire (once ignited) in the goblin jail burns me pretty much. (And the spiders. So big, so hairy, and so dumb. )
Also, when you start a fire, and then save, then reload, the fire is gone. Probably a safety measure to not to burn my harddisk ;)

I stay away from the fireplace in the goblin prison. I spontaneously combusted once, just by looking at it too closely...

Really strange that you burn so easily while I never managed to get burnt by any fire (already lit fireplaces or the ones I cast ignite on).

I tried again and finally, I can conclude that fire I ignited by myself DO BURN me. Looks like I did not make enough testing before I claimed I wasn't harmed by any fire.
However, the already ignited fireplace in the keep IS harmless!
