It all started [thread=117599]here[/thread]

And my progress up till now has been thus far. Starting with the novices' weapon the foil. Suiting up. I don't like. They say everything is cleaned but I don't think so. The first lesson they get you to challenge a wall and to practice your stance. I'm the second one up. Then after about two weeks of prancing about you get to actually take on someone. At first I am hiding off to the left, and then ADVANCE!! Attack au Fer! Balestra..sort of..Displacement.. so many terms and positions I JUST CANT GET MY HEAD AROUND IT ALL!!

After about three months, I'm getting stronger, more agile, more confident and cannier. Me on the left making a brutal lunge..But not good enough to get my hands on a sabre (me caressing one) and take on the big boys.

This has been a few shots of my progress. I'm on the school team and I have joined up at the instructors club. I have to say I don't regret starting this up at all. I've got a few more pictures to post but my limit is up in this one but not to worry I will add more.

Okay a few more..this is my instructor..he's like maybe in his late seventy's and fit. He's brutal. TOOSH!! His best advice to me. Tie your shoes. This was during an intermural match at school and of course the only picture of me is this. Making an example of me. We don't have to wear the daft knickers they put you in until you're really into the big tournies. You get hooked up to all these wires and your hits and moves are counted. Anyway I'm so into all this I'm taking on the girls. She's actually top in her club and travels down to the states. I think she was impressed enough by my moves.

So this has all been leading up to a fairly big intermural tournament involving other highschool clubs around the lower mainland. I've been pretty psyched about it for weeks, I'm literally dreaming it out. And then after I'VE COME SO FAR.. I fuck up.

I went skateboarding last week. I might have chiped my elbow and thats me pretty much out of the tournament. :mad:

Do you wear the mask for that one too? You can never be too careful with land-speed records.

Looks like fun and I'm glad to know this post wasn't about the song but when do you graduate to broadswords?

Broad sword..doesn't that requre hacking through your opponent's armour and bone? I don't think I have the muscle developement in my arm, my maimed arm that is. It would be pretty impressive though..Aye bring me my broad sword!
