Dude, that sucks. :( Hurting someone you care about is a huge emotional pain. You are sorry that you hurt her, even if it was't your fault.
She is sorry because, unless she was also blindfolded, it was her fault for getting in range and not announcing her presence to you. Not to mention that she's caused you all this anguish. Forgive each other and you'll both feel better. You're learning pain tolerance and this is a new type of pain to tolerate, but that doesn't mean you don't seek healing, and forgiveness is what you must give and receive to heal this pain.
I don't want to alarm you, but your description of her and this situation has me worried about something else. After you have forgiven her and she has forgiven you, consider whether you can look her in the eye and ask if, on some level, she wanted to get hit. If she's considering suicide as an escape from the problems in her life, this may have been a trial run or a cry for help.
I am curious if anyone else was in the dojo who could have stopped it, but that's a peripheral issue.
Good luck,
Don

My bet is she didn't see the blindfold, or wasn't paying attention. Walking in range of a guy kicking isn't suicide. Sure, it could hurt, but you wouldn't expect it to kill you. Usually folks go for something a bit less likely to leave them alive and in pain.

You were blindfolded so you couldn't have known she was there unless she spoke to you. This was just an unfortunate accident, no one's fault really. :)

I think the valuable lesson we've all learned here today is that if you're going to curse, don't use fucking astericks because it's fucking annoying.
Hope the wee girl is ok.

It's ok, sometimes accidents happen. I remember taking karate class years ago where a couple of guys were practicing knee strikes on a hand-held shield. One guy got too high with the knee strike when the other guy leaned forward too far with the shield a few inches too low and got caught on the temple. He was out for a minute and dazed afterwards but ok-just minor mistakes on both guys part but any kind of realistic training has it's risks. At least she isnt holding a grudge.:thumb:

Because we're afraid that if we don't he'll kick us in the face like we were a little girl.

I agree that it was nothing more than an accident. The tiny, fragile, sweet child was obviously in the wrong place at the wrong time. Shrug it off, it wasn't your fault.
But if you're serious about the lawn mower thing, I have a lawn tractor with a 5 foot mower bed ..... I can help you rid yourself of your demons.
