I used to care but now, like SD says, we see this stuff so much all the time and everyday that it's actually more realistic to see it in films than not. That we have been so saturated is amusing to me because it means that the advertising is probably not working anyway!
Besides, it's not like Stromberg and the Tobasco, which was just lol anyway. Who can't love advertising like that? Stromberg was my kind of baddie!

As long as it isn't "MY VINTAGE 2004 CONVERSE TRAINERS - BUY IN STORES FIFTY YEARS AGO (HEY THAT'S YOU AUDIENCE)" or the screen being obliterated by the logo of a computer, mobile phone, car or drink label, I don't really care either.

You mean like showing Sony Vaio laptops in I, Robot?

Another aspect--which is unrealistic--is how pristine the logos usually are. No fading, no collection of dust, debris, or grime, and no wear or tear.

This is kind of what I'm saying. I'm fine with there being advertisements in movies, but when it's presented in such a manner that it breaks immersion, it really annoys me.

I saw the Omega Man, and preferred that type of conflict rather than this one. As stated, the zombie/vampires were too much like those of 28 Days/Weeks (don't get me started on the crap sequel of that one).
Visions of a post apocalyptic world usually depress people, and the atmosphere was good enough in this one to do that for me.
I don't necessarily like to argue with plot elements, but why would a guy sit in a spot that had been deliberately cut off and send messages inviting people to meet him? Does the ferry still make regular runs his way?
When he is at the end of his rope, and challenges the zombs at night, they are swarming him in spite of the lights strung all over his car, but right as he is about to be killed, the zomb is scared away by one car with just some headlights on it. I guess Will managed to kill all but that one, and there were no more within enough of a radius to hear the commotion and join in. Yes, that must be it...
If those zombs can smell blood the way they are able to, why does he hunt deer? Surely he doesn't field strip those babies ANYWHERE near where he lives. And if he strips them somewhere else, does he really risk transporting all that flesh to his crib? I guess the guy really trusts the power of vinegar...
Doesn't the zomb who sets the trap use the same materials Will used? Sure looks like it. So how did Will cut through it with a pocketknife? Musta been the new Swiss Army knife. I understand it now comes with a cable cutter where the scissors used to be...
I agree with the poster who said that Will should have used the grenade differently. But I would have tossed it outside the glass enclosure as soon as the zomb made that hole in it. Will still might have died, but his chances would definitely have improved. That glass might have taken most of the impact, and if it did, it would have cleared the room for sure. Maybe he could have shot any more that were in the building. Or maybe he could just have run to the car that rescued him at the dock. Didn't look too imposing, but it must have magic headlights. It sure scared the zombs before!!

I thought the lights gave off UV.

Eactly UV rays not just light. If you see in Wills lab the lab's light did not hurt the infected woman but the UV lamp did.
jtr7 on 30/12/2007 at 09:27
The light the UV lamps at the science complex where I work give off is unmistakably purplish and dim, unlike the ones in movies like I Am Legend and Blade, plus UV is beyond the visible spectrum, so I hesitate to say the light is pure UV.:) I don't know if high-wattage UV lamps completely lose the purple hue, but the lamps in the real labs kill some germs well enough.

I was relieved the movie didn't give in to having a scene involving escaped devil-rats attacking Neville or the others.

Don't know why people were complaining about Shrek being on TV and him owning an Apple laptop, those are all fairly conceivable... why didn't they complain that the first five minutes is a traditional muscle car ad for the GT500? And are the CGI deer supposed to look that bad?
