ahahaha, nice
I'd considered firing up a tunneller I used to use and change my ip to some american one just so I could get it going, but the risk to that is a premabanned steam account so I guess I'll just wait.

Reading some of the comments made by players of this game really makes me wonder what Deus Ex they were playing. One went so far as to describe the original as a 'sandbox' game! I think their backwards vision is rose-tint-augmented.

All good stuff.
Renzatic, you almost made me cry out of joy with your story. It was far more informative than most of the reviews I've read. THANK YOU for your time. :) And also: fuck u! Now I can't wait!

...staying sort of in their peripheral vision they don't seem to notice you. I think the stealth is a teeny bit more forgiving than the Ion Storm games.
Yeah. They do seem to have a bit more narrow cone of vision in this game. If you keep pace, and stay parallel with them, they won't notice you. That might lead some people to think the game will be a little easier in stealth, but it's not. The AI can and does turn around to look behind them on a regular basis, and they'll notice you off to the side while they're turning (which shocked the shit out of me at one point). Plus, even if they didn't do random turn abouts, that wouldn't stop a guy 3/4ths of the way across the room from spotting you. The vision cone is narrower, but it shoots out a helluva lot farther than I've seen in just about any stealth game.
To test it out, I wanted to test out how far away I could stand away from a camera, and remain undetected. (
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3018396/DX_Cam.jpg) As you can see, they can get a bead on you from a fairly good distance away. I couldn't get any farther back, because I'm against a wall in that shot, but I do have good reason to believe that they can spot you from even farther away than this.
I'm sure the later levels, where you have to contend with much more than 3 or 4 isolated cameras, and a small handful of guys, are gonna be evil.

Anybody know if this will run well on a GeForce GT 330M mobile GPU?
I think the game is more CPU than GPU intensive. Case in point, I've got an ass old machine, and the game does get a little chunkity on occasion. Nothing too bad, but I do like keeping my games running above 30FPS at all times if I can.
Knocking down the resolution from 1920x1080 all the way down to 800x600 does absolutely nothing to fix the frame rate, nor does turning off any of the eye candy options. If you've got a decent CPU, I think a 330M will at least be playable.

Ha! I'm having fun now! Also, NO FUCK U OLOL! :shakes fist:
But seriously, I personally think it's worth the wait. Though you shouldn't
have to to begin with. I mean all the European folk already have the game either preloaded, or have the disc waiting in the box. So why are they making people wait for the damn thing to activate? SET THIS GAME FREE!

Despite the quality of the combat, the emphasis on gameplay options, the diverse set of augmentations and the substantial side-missions, what will stay with me about Human Revolution is its focus on creating a rich, believable world filled with interesting characters, themes and conflicting ideals. The mere fact that it aims for such lofty narrative heights is commendable, the fact that it achieves them is worthy of celebration.
Me? So far, so good. I'm especially glad that object highlight and quest markers can be disabled. I only just started poking around in the first real mission, though.
One minorly spoiler-ish thing that I thought was cool:
When you first arrive at Sarif HQ and David tells you to get to the helipad ASAP, he means it. If you go mucking around, rummaging through offices, etc. for too long, there are actual conequences.Looks like we've actually got a respectable game this time around.
