The first reviews are rolling out, starting with John Walker's Wot I Think at RPS. '(
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/08/22/70336/) When games get close to the glory of Looking Glass, our expectations can rise extremely high. That Deus Ex: Human Revolution meets so many of them is a remarkable feat.'

(

(
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/08/22/deus-ex-human-revolution-review/) PC Gamer (US? UK? Dunno) gives it 94%, with Tom Francis saying "I’d love to see Human Revolution show that smart can sell, and that gamers love freedom more than they love firing assault rifles at the Middle-East" [quote added by me - Ed]
(
http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/22/deus-ex-human-revolution-review/) Joystiq gives 4.5/5; 'Eidos Montreal allows you to play freely within its intelligently layered systems, rather than dragging you by the nose through cinematic event after cinematic event. This is the difference between a game that is well made and one that is well designed.'
(
http://www.next-gen.biz/reviews/deus-ex-human-revolution-review) EDGE (careful, Langdell) awards 9/10. 'From its sluggish, restrictive start, Human Revolution opens into a world of scintillating possibility in which your actions’ significance reaches far into the future.'
(
http://www.destructoid.com/review-deus-ex-human-revolution-209544.phtml) Destructoid says 9.5/10. '
t is everything a fan of Deus Ex could want in a game, and it effortlessly embraces the arduous task of living up to the legacy, standing next to its 2000 predecessor and holding its head up in pride.'
(http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-08-22-deus-ex-human-revolution-review) Eurogamer awards 9/10. 'Deus Ex: Human Revolution is probably not as perfect as I'm making it sound. Some of the rules about what's interactive and not seem quite arbitrary ... and while the level design is clever and varied, the interior design definitely is not ... But the important point is that Deus Ex: Human Revolution is one of those rare games that knows you can't be perfect all the time, and that you have the right to change your mind about your actions later.'

<snip>(
http://www.eurogamer.de/articles/2011-08-23-deus-ex-human-revolution-test) Eurogamer Deutschland gives it neun of zehn. 'Deus Ex: Human Revolution gelingt es, erfolgreich ein als unmöglich geltendes Erbe anzutreten und in Würde die Legende weiterzuschreiben, die der Name Deus Ex in sich trägt.' [Actual score and quote added by me - Ed ]
SPOILER WARNING - (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/08/26/the-rps-verdict-deus-ex-human-revolution/) the RPS Verdict is at this link. 'A man’s best augment is a wall to hide behind.'

MEDIA BLACKOUT BEGINS NOW.
While I get the game tomorrow, the new PC doesn't arrive until Wednesday or Thursday at the very earliest. :(

Can't wait for this badboy to unlock. Wish they'd adjust it for timezones so it were 8 hours from now rather than 11 or whatever since it's probably going by PST like every Steam release.

I guess it may be time to go off the grid. My delivery's estimated for the 26th, Friday. I really hope Amazon does justice to the hopes I'm pinning on "Expedited Delivery".

You know what? I don't care that I've only had about 7 hours of sleep over the last two nights. I don't care that I've got a bunch of stuff to do.
This is a new Deus Ex. A
good new Deus Ex. An
orange Deus Ex.
Screw temptation. I'm preloading it now. If it goes live at midnight EST, I'll try to get a good couple of hours in.

I'll make sure to take a break every other hour so I can PM you, and tell you all about how I'm playing the game, and you're not.
...hell, I'll start right now. :cheeky:
