Hugging in public schools is hereby banned! Do not touch anyone. Please extend your personal bubbles to ten feet. If schools think that hugging is bad and clogs the hallways, just wait until students are told not to get within three feet of each other.

This is in your school then? What has happened for them to implement this? Some moral outrage?
I went to a mixed boarding school (don't all be surprised now) and in my final year a new boarding master arrived. He was a South African CHRISTIAN, and if you've met one you'll know what I mean. Banned us from having girlfriends. But it wasn't that simple - he didn't spell it out like that, just said he didn't want people seen in "compRRomOising situAEtions" in public until after several run-ins with him he made it clear that basically he wanted no boy-girl action. That my dorms were all male and that the possible extension of this prison-like situation was people becoming teh ghey seemed to pass him by. I should of suggested it... Anyway, his son, a day pupil, had a girlfriend and that was alright. What an ass. [/vent brought on by possible forum topic flashback over]

No, I just saw it on the news. Some schools on the East coast of the U.S. where a couple of girls were suspended from school for hugging their friends.

This is getting very ridiculous. I read a story (not too long ago) where they were preventing children from having to sit on Santa Clause's lap when they told him what they wanted for x-mas.
I guess it's obvious, if there's hugging involved, they must be up to no good with horrible thoughts and devious plans running through their head!
I remember a time even when the teachers hugged students in a very innocent way, now they would probably cut their hands off (among other things).

But girl-girl action was fine, right?
Hot.

How does it feel to hold a girl in your arms?

It reminds me of the policy at Antioch College, where you had to get unambiguous verbal asset for each stage of hankypanky.
"May I hold you?"
"Yes."
"A kiss on the cheek?"
"Sure."
"May I unbutton your shirt?"
"Uh, ok."
"May I grope the right boob?"
"erm ... just a little."
"The left one?"
"..."
(sotto voce) "dammit."
Twenty years later and enrollment was so emptied-out the whole college shut down after like 200 years. There's a lesson there.

Sounds sexy. Maybe I should try that verbal thing sometime. Instead of my hidden dragon attack.
