Did anyone else experience a whole lot of crashing while using the Safedisk patch? (Hoping someone could also tell me how to solve that little issue)

I have the same problems with the safe-disk exe it causes morrowind to crash very frequently.

You should be aware that under the DMCA, this is considered trafficing in a circumvention device, and is a felony. Now, I happen to think that law is idiotic and should be changed, but you should be aware of that before you do things like link to the file, host the file on your website, etc.
Considering all the stuff going on over the case with Blizzard and Bnetd.org, I'd suggest you keep a lower profile on this particular item. You oculd end up getting yourself, ttlg.com, and other random people in trouble.
If you want to understand the issue better, I'd suggest looking at eff.org

Add this to your .ini file for a little boost. (I think the water looks a little more realistic this way.)

Thanks BUKU in advance for the heads up, Kathode. I have a 99% feeling that this right here is what's causing all of the pitiful framerate, and maybe several other problems that people are experiencing. Could someone point out the other post that had a link to this Fix he's reccomending? I keep getting Page not Found when I click on yours. Hopefully that's just traffic, not the idiotic big brother banning progress.

if you can't yet tell, i'm new to the world of PC gaming. i was wondering i how i can replace the .exe file with kathode's cd-patch--thing-- and i don't know how to do it.  :tsktsk:   do i just download it from the link and then copy it into the morrowind data files folder?:eww: :(

I don't have the game yet so I can't confirm this, but I would presume that there is a Morrowind.exe file already in your game directory. What you want to do is rename the existing file to something else (such as MorrowindOriginal.exe) and then copy the downloaded file into that same directory, so that when the game tries to run Morrowind.exe it finds the new file and not the original one.
If the link is dead or anyone is uneasy about running downloaded executables (and frankly everyone should be these days), I highly recommend finding the "UnSafeDisc" program which very effectively removes SafeDisc checks from every game I've tried it with. Again, you still need the CD in the drive the vast majority of the time, but it invariably speeds up the loading time dramatically (if not typically the gameplay itself as itr appears to do in this instance.)
(You still have to trust the UnSafeDisc authors of course, but one executable for all games is better than a different one every time...)
