I have just built myself a new HTPC and I am having trouble getting it to use the TV as the display

First up the build
CPU - Intel Core i5 750
Fan - Scythe Big Shuriken
Case - Silverstone Grandia GD04
M/board - Gigabyte P55M-UD4
HDD - Samsung 1TB
Ram - G.Skill Ripjaws 2000Mhz ddr3
Video - Gainward G210 512Mb
PSU - Corsair 750w
Std keyboard/mouse
OS - Windows 7 Home Premium

I am using the M/boards internal Spdif connector and running it into the header on the graphics card so that I can use just the HDMI cable for sound and audio
While setting up I had plugged a BenQ 24 monitor into the DVI port and installed everything made sure I had all the latest drivers etc and everythiing was going sweet so far

The setup is now like this HTPC linked via HDMI to Sony Muteki System (Amp) then HDMI from the amp to Samsung Series 6 46 inch 100hz LCD TV

When I power up with the Monitor and Amp/Tv plugged in I can only setup the display to extend the desktop onto the TV with the Monitor as the primary display or vice versa this means that I have the taskbar on the TV or the Monitor
If I try to clone the display using the Monitor s the primary display the TV shuts down and the same happens if I try to clone with the TV as the primary display the TV shuts down and I end up with just the Monitor on. (also if I use the Identify display option at this point 1 and 2 appear on the Monitor as if it is both displays)If I setup the display to extend the desktop and use the TV as the primary display then all of the Icons etc appear on the TV as well as the taskbar so I thought right now all I need to do is disconnect the Monitor and all should be fine but ...
When i disconnect the Monitor I get no display when powered up from the TV at all, if I leave the Monitor plugged in and turned of when powering up the TV works fine but I can not get rid of the monitor
