I shall be sure to give them a go at some point! My favorite Dark Mod FM so far is A Score to Settle by Springheel.
In the north of England the sky has mysteriously turned blue and there is this weird bright ball hanging up there giving out lots of heat, for some unknown reason its evaporated my gaming urges at present...

Old Habits Rebuild by Obstortte has amazing AI - they communicate and warn when there is trouble, greet each other, comment on opened doors and stuff (probably will be in 2.0 release).
Yes, AI will communicate a lot better/more often with each other in 2.0. (coming soon).

Oh, then I guess I'd start a new character, as I consider Garrett's character arc pretty much finished. I'd still keep Garrett around, just not as the central or necessarily playable character, although missions that deal with old Garrett could be interesting. I'd take Garrett's newly adopted protege and make her do missions for Garrett in a new Keepers' organization. I'd make the new organization more about about careful balancing of the various powers in the city and less about employing magic solutions. Character-wise, she'd be just a chip off the old block, but there are interesting directions where you could go from that starting point. You don't see many female anti-heroes in games.
I've been thinking some more about how I would approach my fanfic version of Thief 4 and I think I'd shift the motivation of the protagonist from greed to curiosity. I'd give her a curiosity that would kill a pack of lions. I think that would allow much of the core gameplay to stay intact while also allowing for new additions. Naturally that would mean some modification to her tool- and skillset to include more things that help spying and eavesdropping.
I'd stick to the mission centric format with the storytelling, but I'd add little story snippets about the characters and the city. Maybe they would get unlocked in the menu when you get to certain story points or maybe they might fit in between the missions and tie in to the main story. If you have read
The Lies of Locke Lamora, then you have an idea what I mean. It would be less about exposition and more about setting the tone for the mission and fleshing out the characters.
Regarding the factions, I'd have the hammerites clash with the city officials over the right to punish criminals as part of a power struggle. When someone vandalises a property is that more of a criminal offence or is it more of a religious offence and who should get to punish the perp? I think this could allow for some political intrigue to serve the main plot too. I'd have both the nobles and the ordinary people divided on this, and it would not necessarily be the hammerites who would be doling out the harshest punishments for crimes.
I'd also make the pagans more diverse. One of the things I didn't like about T2 was how tame the pagans seemed. They were more like a misunderstood people who wanted to live off the land in harmony with nature. I'd introduce more savage tribes and take inspiration for them from the Scythians and other nomad tribes. I'd have them drink the blood of their enemies and make napkins out of human skin.
In other words, more of this: (

Improve Thief?
Give it Dishonoured's mantling.
Lady Rowena on 24/7/2013 at 14:28
Swinging ropes maybe? :D
And, about the pagans, I would like them to be "explained" better. I don't like too much the way they speak, apart from the fact that I don't understand a damn thing of what they say. And I would like the women to speak as well. Yes, I know that in TDS they speak, but...I don't consider TDS at all, sorry. :o
For the rest, if not for the graphics, I'm perfectly happy the way the game is.

You can swing your ropes in TDM, and the mantling is actually better and more flexible than Dishonored's.

Can you make the game more generic please... i really like kind of vague, generic things... like not anything specific or niche just like generic stuff, y'know that might kind of relate, or not, doesn't have to relate.. as long as there's more of it in there... kind of thing...things that kind of make the game like kind of every other game so we don't alienate anyone (except the original fans) thanks if you did that then i'd maybe play the game for a couple of days or not.. might not play it at all , it's hard to remember which game it is you see... coz it's like so... generic????

Apart from which, this isn't the sarcasm thread.
