That made less sense then what I said.. Just for that, you get a shiny gold star.

"What the fuck, over?" Over, as in radio slang for "Your turn to talk now."
ZB: What he meant was he wanted it re-done from the perspective of one of the soldiers who was actively defending the Rickenbacker as opposed to one who was in cryonic suspension, frozen like a popsicle.
ZylonBane on 4/6/2006 at 00:40
Yeah, I'm familiar with the "popsicle" slang. I'm just drawing a blank on any in-game references to anyone on the Rickenbacker being in stasis. Bluegrime's emphasis on WASN'T implies that most of them WERE. Which, as far as I can recall, wasn't the case.
Ultraviolet on 4/6/2006 at 02:07
He was just showing the contrast to Goggles, who IS in stasis.
Bluegrime on 4/6/2006 at 06:43
I meant that you played it as someone who was awake and active during the whole 'shit hits the fan' period of things. Not that the Rickenbackers crew was frozen, just that when you start out in the game things have 'cooled down' to the point of little-no organized resistance.

That would be coold for a System Shock 2 movie.
Trying to re-create the actual game would be tough as it's difficult to keep a film going when you just have a single character thats just hearing voices :ebil:
The movie would play great as disater movie, telling how the many invaded the ship. Create all the familiar characters, show there changes as they are infected by the many (including Delacrioxs sudden change of character :thumb:). as well as a seemingly random marine that gets modified and put in the deep freeze.
It would end with all the main characters in the positions they were at the start of the game and the ship a disaster area. Closing by focusing on the marines stasis tube count down.
Would be cool to see the true storyline done that way...

Directors have done it before. You could have short segments make the body of the thing up. Say Goggles comes to an area and fades back to why an area is like it is or whatever, or you come to the Bronson grave area and it flashes all the way back and shows us Bronson's campaign of terror or something. It can be done easily enough. Of course, it'd be hard on the average viewer's attention span, but we should welcome such challenges.

"How would you "improve" SS2?"
Get it away from EA. Then, give it to folks whom will enhance it cause they
care about it, not the money! I say there are lots of folks here at TTLG whom could do it.
Even at my age, one can still dream. EA hasen't figured out how to take that away.
Bio Shock, I await thee!!!
AMEN!!!!!! Well said!!!!!
But, other than that... The only thing I can think of to improve a perfect game is by adding the missing elements from another perfect game (SS1)! Specifically, I would add cyberspace to System Shock 2, just like it was done in System Shock 1. This would make SS2 even better, I feel!
Graphics-wise, I think the game is already great and has aged pretty well. With the upgraded textures and such, it definately stands the test of time! If I were to pick an engine to upgrade it with, I would say the Jupiter engine used in Tron 2.0 seems much more fitting to the feel and theme of System Shock. Otherwise, why mess with a perfect game?

Jupiter is used by Fear I think, that game looks amazing. SS2 could use some new graphics to get the scare factor up to today's standards, at least it doesn't scare me anymore. (that could be because I even know where many spawn points of enemies are)
