My friend and I have connected to Hamachi (I started the network) but what do we do from there?
P.S. the Hamachi IP address doesn't work.

Yeah my friend and I are still having problems with this. I've pretty much tried everything in the guide so far. One problem is that when my friend and I open our games and try to host or join, ss2 doesn't recognize our hamachi ips. It instead displays our normal ips and then it doesn't work. I've tried to block ss2 from my normal firewall and allow it for the hamachi firewall but that still doesn't work. I really have no idea what's wrong and it's quite frustrating. But for your information we use hamachi for many other games, so we know it does work, but for some reason we just CAN'T get it to work for this game. HELPPP

Can you ping each other via Hamachi? Did you try turning off your normal network connection before you connect?

It could be a problem with Hamachi.
With older games they only look for network games on your prefered network and Hamachi may not be it.
With using XP:
Open your network connections folder.
Click "Advanced" then "Advanced Settings"
There should be a list of your connections, click Hamachi and move it to the top of the list using the green arrow. (If it is not already at the top of the list)
Make sure everyone you are playing with has this and bingo it should work.
EDIT: I have not heard of anyone having this problem with Hamachi on Vista.
