Did you get Hamachi to work in the end?

Hi,
I have a router so I think Hamachi wont work. I finally know what my IP address is so if I need to host a game, I'll be able to tell you the CORRECT IP address. I'll be able to join a game no problem (if I get the IP address right).

The whole point of Hamachi is for working around the troubles of routers and port forwarding. Of course Hamachi works behind a router.

I don't get this, both my friend and I installed Hamachi, I created a network, he joined it, and then we loaded up SS2.
I hosted, we tried my hamachi IP, that failed, i tried my IP as listed in-game, that failed, what the hell is wrong?

If you cannot connect to the Hamachi mediation server at all, you can't create or join a network. In this case you may need to manually set Hamachi to use a specifc port in [Hamachi Preferences-->Status->Detailed Configuration->Connecting through NAT (UDP andTCP ports].
You will need to forward these two ports in your router settings (see below for Router Settings).
What brand your router is? Have you tried enabling (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demilitarized_zone_(computing)) DMZ-setting in your router? Are you sure that you have enabled port forwarding for Hamachi? Or for System Shock 2?
Getting System Shock 2 Multiplayer to work is difficult task but doable. What we here at forums need is complete specs from your computer, its inner hardware, installed software firewall(s), antivirus program(s) and your modem/router brand. And lots of patience.
