Ok SS2 is getting on my nerves and 33 pages of info will bore me. I start a new game, into is good, load screen is 100% then it blacks out. No error message. All I need to do is press any key and it exits to windows. Please, has there been a solution for this? Patch installed too!

Just put safe_texture_manager at the bottom of cam.cfg, that is a likely fix.
It is also mentioned in the very first post of this FAQ thread if I'm not mistaken. ;)

Well, it is recommended that you use the fixed EXE if you have a dualcore or hyperthreaded processor.

There are over 800 posts here, one or two hundreds of them is people saying thanks because SS2 works on XP. And probably thousands of people read it as guests and get it to work.
So Anton's post makes no sense at all.
