First I need to know what part of the game the demo has. I´d think it has the whole MedSci deck, there are few hackable security crates (hack skill 2 required). And these cyborgs are called Hybrids. There are cyborgs in the game that are alot tougher.
I can´t help you any further I think. Just get the game...somehow. :p

No problem, I already hacked those crates to get a few interesting items.

I'm running SS2 on XP, and there is no audio playing. At all. Even when I get to audio logs, there is still no sound playing. Please help! :(

Try disabling hardware sound to see if it makes a difference. If it does, you may want to take a look at (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79795) this thread, I had the same problem at one point, and it got sorted out there. :thumb:

No change. Absolutely no sound. And before someone asks, I do have all sound up to full volume, and headphones/speakers are plugged in.

What are your system specs?
IAMED_2 on 16/6/2005 at 13:36
I'm running XP SP2, with 512 MB of RAM, using a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card, and the ATI 9800 for graphics.

I've never heard of that sound card before. :erm: Maybe it doesn't work with System Shock 2? I have no idea. :erm::confused: Have you tried updating the drivers or anything, maybe?

Before I do anything uneccessary, what does SS2 need to run? I've never had sound problems with any other game before, and I've had a lot of high-end games.

Let's see here . . . googled it, and came up with this:
Windows 95 or 98
Pentium 200 MHz (300 MHz recommended)
32 MB RAM (64 MB recommended)
4x-speed CD-ROM
4 MB D3D compatible video card or greater (4 MB D3D compatible accelerator card or greater recommended)
DirectX compatible sound card
Windows compatible mouse, keyboard
DirectX 6.0 or later
200 MB free hard drive space (500 MB recommended)
