IIRC it stops playing the Irrational and LG logos after your first manual save.

A couple thoughts.
1) Direct Show programs that play the cut-scenes can get overlayed sometimes by other installations. (Video card drivers that come bundled with other stuff and the like can zap them. Also, I suspect that Everquest messed them up on one of my machines, but I'm too lazy to prove it.) The old ones can be installed from the SS2 CD and don't seem to hose up any other games or applications. That might help if you have more problems.
2) Sometimes, even on my good ATI video card, I have problems with "texture reporting," something that is usually only an issue with Geoforce 2 MX cards. It causes a black screen lockup followed by a crash to desktop. (Or a hung up program that needs to "End Now" from the task manager. That can make it hard to TAB to see the error message.) Creating a user.cfg file containing nothing but the line:
safe_texture_manager
will prevent that problem. Don't be afraid to try it just to see if it helps. I have it in place on both my machines for SS-2, Thief 1 and Thief 2, reguardless of the video card.
3) Both #1 and #2 at the same time...... (It happend to me.)
Have fun!

It's mentioned somewhere, but your problem is the well known "installed to a too long pathname" problem.
To sort it out, move/reinstall ss2 to a folder that's not got a too long name
(i.e. a short pathname). "C:\program files\ss2" and "C:\Sshock2" all work fine.

Hey all,
I think I have a new one, I can't get the right mouse button to work and use items in System Shock within the game.
Its mainly within the inventory, and completing the training mission, using the syringe in the first bit. I right click and nothing happens.
..what's going on?

Alright, my problem is that, I've unsafed the icd file. I've patched the testme!.exe with various No-CD cracks. I've tried to run the game WITH the CD when it was just installed. I've re-installed it about.. 5 times now. My problem is, that, it keeps on saying "Shock2.exe has made an illegal action, and must close". Even on the original :\ I run WinXP professional. Everything was fine, until I pressed on the Shock2.exe. Also, I could play it before, but after that time, it just did this all the time. I've gotten my friends' exe file, and it worked. But now that wont do the trick either. I've download some ntdll.dll, cause it said something about that in the rapport. It also mentioned something about the temp folder, with a WERAxxxxx thing. But I've never had one of those. Now I've deleted everything in my temp folder, to see if that worked. But no O_o I was hoping any of you could help me here, since I'm sure you guys know more than me on this. Thanks in advance,
Guthra.
