:laff: Sad but true. I only have dial-up, though, wouldn't that slow up things quite a bit? Like, would the framerate drop really low, or would something else happen?

I've played over a connection that might as well be dialup.. and though it can look a little strange at times (players/monsters sliding about), it's still very playable.
Very much worth a try imo. I'd reccomend getting the impossibel difficulty for multiplayer mod though - it tends to be a little easy when you can both respawn infinitely and sneak around monsters ;)

Hmmm. Maybe I'll give it a try in a few weeks, I should be done writing by then. The monsters sliding around bit, I've had it happen before, but only when the enemies are a long way from me. I always found it amusing, but then again, I find almost all of the Dark engine's quirks amusing. Thief's disappearing and flying doors, or zombies lying down who levitate and float around the room, it's all hilarious to me. :weird:

Good to see the humour in any situation ;p
Let me know if you're looking for someone to host/something. Could be fun.

And almost certainly funny. :p I'll let you know when the urge to try out a multiplayer game kicks up again, then. :thumb:

I'm somewhat interested in getting into a co-op game, since I've almost beat the game now nearly bug-free (random crashes that have happened very rarely, like only 4 times so far). I got the model and texture upgrade mods in and it's really helped the mood, but the most suprising part (possible spoiler) is when you meet the Doctor at last. I was expecting SOMETHING to happen, but that completely freaked me out.

I can install System Shock 2 no problem on Windows XP Home Edition but when I try to run it, all I get is a few, quick, blank screen and then I'm returned to the Desktop. Can anyone help me out
I have exactly the same problem, also with a Ti 4600, I'm going to try getting the latest drivers now, failing that, where can I get older drivers from?
Aekeron on 9/12/2004 at 20:18
From memory, (
www.guru3d.com) has a pretty good archive of old drivers.
If you can, checkout the forums and get the 'starforce46.something' detonators. I think they're reputedly amongst the best gf
4 drivers.
Good luck.

Double-check that compatibility modes are disabled, I've never had SS2 run when it's set to run in, say, Windows 95/98 compatibility mode. Also, make sure you've done the age old safe_texture_manager fix, probably already done it, but just thought I'd remind you. ;)
