Erm..There is no SS2 version that is 5.15, IIRC. Unless you are talking about the warez release, which was 1.15, also IIRC.

Almost a little suspicious. :weird: Why would you even bother scanning for viruses on the CD? Far as I know, there's no way to alter the regular copies of the game that you buy from the store . . .

That's a very good question. Unless you're just so ticked you would try anything..... :erg:

I run the game and it says:
Version 1.15 - stupid error.
As for the viral check, I am just so desperate that I'd try anything to make it work.
Unless I got a dud of a game and to go and rebuy it from Amazon.com again, shouldn't somethin give and it work? I've tried every little trick in the bag unless someone here knows something that I haven't done yet...That or provides a link to an all time fix and makes sure the link and site works. I've tried the offical patch site and their server is down for whatever reason. All I know is this: I am a huge fan, love the game and want to play it! However it can't do big things like work and its pissin me off. I mean, if something doesn't give and somethin works soon, I'm gonna toss the game out the window and blast it with my air pressure nail gun and go and buy my self a version that can do big things like work!

There are three links to the patch (including our own website) in the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60930#patch) FAQ which is the bright red thread at the top of this forum.
Make sure you have read the FAQ as it does contain fixes for the most common problems that people have with System Shock 2.

Okay, I downloaded the pach for the 1.15 version and I ran it...it worked then when the screen comes up: The one where it shows the outline of the starship? Well, right after that, the screen goes black again and I think I finally got it to work! :) Then the thing cuts out on me and I am back on my desktop and I'm left thinkin: WTF?! Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks in advance! :>)
Edit: I got the game to run! Turn off the WIN 95 thing and just run the mother. However, I've encountered another problem: During the "verifaction process" the graphics look all cruddy, anyway to fix this mother?
TheNightTerror on 9/11/2004 at 00:40
During the verification process the graphics look cruddy? What verification process, where the game checks to make sure you have the correct CD in the drive? I don't think you can change that, it's the in game resolution which can be changed, but that's it.
Good to hear you got it working, finally! :thumb: Just be glad you didn't fight with the mother for two YEARS trying to get it working, I know from personal experience it can be . . . frustrating. :eww:

The In-Game-Verifcation-Process. Before the main menu of the game comes up. The graphics look cruddy and it makes the desktop look cruddy too! Any advice? And yeah, I am lucky. :>)

Hmmm. Just shooting in the dark, but check the compatibility modes again, did you check 256 colors?
