Patch 2.3 installed? Tried any of the compatibility modes?

Well Im having a few issues. I'm able to install the game and get to the actual running of the program but more times then not Im greeted with one of the following:
Windows version is not compatible (and yes Ive checked all the modes)
Or, after choosing a comp. mode, windows tells me the program has made an error and needs to close.
hmmm
I was able, for a while, to install the game and actually get into the first level, but the graphics get choppy....sigh

I'm having the same problem as a few posts above. I get to the career choice, go through a door, it shows the movie of a ship flying, then shows a loading screen. As soon as the loading screen appears, I hear the windows error sound and the loading bar fails to show any progress. When alt tabbing out, I get the "
buff len of 80 exceeded by 80". I've tried all the solutions that I've seen in the past 43 pages(forgive me if I missed one...). The game is installed into the default directory of c:/Sshock2. I've used all the patches and nocd cracks that I've found listed above, I've done the safe_texture trick in all the .cfg files (even made a user.cfg).
Find and rename file called lgvid.ax to different file name, eg. lgvid.ax.bak.

Just delete that directory where you did install your game. You don't need to use uninstallation program to do that.

C:\Games\System Shock 2 is my path and it works great.
But I'm surprised why there is no install log file, did you install it manually?

thanks for all the great help!
well the game has been running just fine until recently it has begun to load slowly and I get a HORRIBLE frame rate when my save finally loads up....any ideas?

What programs are running in the background? Also, knowing your computer specs would be nice.
