I see no threads about this one, so might as well start one.
I actually managed to install System Shock 2 on my laptop that has Vista (32-bit Home Premium if it matters). But when I play the game, it freezes after 5 seconds because of the sound. But sometimes it freezes even if I turn off the sound. The movies won't play but I don't care, I have seen them before. I just want to play the game again. Did anybody else try to play it on Vista?
I have no problems running it on my PC that has Windows XP. Nothing.
p.s.: Other games I have problems with are Thief 1/2/3 and Deus Ex. Deus Ex won't even finish installing (the bar is full but it says it stopped responding; and when I am trying to run it, it asks for the disk which is already inside but keeps asking every time I click ok...sheesh) With Thief 1/2/3 when I want to start out, I just get a black screen and it freezes. But sometimes I have the same problem like with SS2.
If anyone can help me with something, please do!!!! Thanks a bunch!
UPDATE : I set compatibility mode to Windows 2000. SS2 runs but freezes immediately or after 5-10 seconds into the game.
I think it's the sound, movies play fine.
