How to reverse the on-off messages on a pressplate?

I'm a beginning editor looking to make an Indiana Jones-style trap in a mission I'm making, where the PressPlate object sends an Off message when it goes down and an On message when it goes up. The most straightforward way to me looked like cracking into gen.osm, copying the TrigPPlate script and reversing a few things, but from what I can gather, Gen.osm is already compiled. If anyone has already done this before, knows how to get the scripting info I need, and/or knows a method to do it with links and properties, it would be very helpful.

I would just NVscript it, (https://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=6623) NVRelayTrap can capture any message, and then send any message to any target in almost any way.

What are you sending the message to? Put an Inverter trap CD linked between the plate and the destination. This will flip TurnOn to TurnOff.

Of course it's something that was right under my nose as I was grabbing the RelayTrap for the alarm. This worked exactly the way I wanted it to, thanks
