If you are finding yourself getting really scared playing it alone might I suggest playing multiplayer?
You would have to restart the game from the beginning to play with someone else online but it would make the feeling of being alone and scared fade out the window.
Just a thought.

Oh, and what is this motion tracker? Is it a psi power or somesuch?
It's PsiRadar, and functions (and looks) pretty much identically to the Aliens motion scanner.

Hehe, I'm feeling you man. :D
The first time I played SS2 I had so many "shock" moments, I had to take breaks to recover! :cheeky:

Multiplayer would be nice but I HAVE to finish the single player. I play in a public place where there are many people around me. It's still scary.
I have a new thought: The more monsters there are, the less scary it is.
I have two approaches:
1. go into god mode and let the monsters follow me around. Then it would probably feel like multiplayer.
2. INCREASE the monster respawn rate. I don't know how though, the readme only let me decrease the respawn rate (and a few enemies aren't affected by this).

Last tip: Consider the possibility that this ain't your game.

Dammit, this is the last time I give someone a stamp of approval.
Now I have to track him down and scrape it off.

Don't worry, I replaced your stamp pad with one filled with magic ink earlier. You know, just in case he wouldn't make it to the barcode-tattoo stage.

I once knew someone that had a barcode tattoo which rung up as a half-gallon of T.G. Lee milk in Publix supermarkets.

Only useful if you drink it all before making it to the counter. Bring some vodka as well!
