In the XBOX version all you do to enchant is select a charged soul gem in you inventory and press A. It will ask if you want to make an item, or recharge one. Press A or B accordingly.
The Constant Effect Bug works on the XBOX too, by the way.
Edit!
Sorry, maybe that wasn't in-depth enough. I suppose I could give you what you actually wanted. :cheeky:
When you equip a gem and hit B to make an enchanted item, a box pops up with spaces for Item, Soul, a list of effects, how much enchantment the item can take, the cast cost, the charge (dependent on the soul), and how it is cast.
In the item slot you put whatever you want to enchant. Note that weapons and armor usually have poor enchantment values, except for the most expensive and Heavy armors. What this means is that you probably won't be able to put "SUPERKILL 1MILLION DAMAGE FIREBALL" on anything. There is a limit!
Many people enchant rings and amulets because of there high enchantibility and low weight, but keep in mind that you can only wear two rings and one amulet, and you do get many nice rings during the main quest. For characters with less money (non-thieves) Exquisite Rings and Amulets with an enchantibility of 120 can be a bit expensive.
In the Soul Gem slot you can put any gem with a soul, put keep in mind that the tougher the enemy you stole the soul from, the higher the charge, and the higher the charge, the more high end enchanting you can do. Also, some of the most powerful enemies, Golden Saints and Ascended Sleepers, can create Constant Effect enchantments, which means you can have a constant Bound Longsword or constant Restore Health, but the amount of enchantibilty of the item limits how much restoration you can have.
Don't worry, you don't need a "RESTORE 1MILLION HEALTH GOD RING", and you don't need one either. I made the Rings of Gyrin set that had a Bound Dagger and restored 8 points per second, and this allowed me to conquer even my toughest opponents.
!!!!!ENCHANTING RELATED CHEAT!!!!!
If you soul cap a Golden Saint or Ascended Sleeper, you can make constant effect enchantments, right? Well what about having Constant Effect without using up your Saint? All you do is equip the Golden Saint, go to make enchantment, put an item in the slot, and switch to another gem with a soul. It could be anything, even as low as a Rat, but the Constant Effect will remain.
Not only does this allow you to save your Saints, but it lowers the price considerably! Another tip: If you do the Ienas Sarandas quest in Ald'ruhn and return the shoes to Llether Vari under skar, he'll give you a nice discount on all your enchanting. I always go to him for it so I can save a few grand.
OK, I'm done with those. Now for the list of effects. This is the list of effects that will happen when you use or equip the item, depending on whether it is Cast When Used or Constant Effect (If you don't put an item, it actually makes a Cast Once scroll).
When you are adding effects to the list, and you increase the magnitude, it takes up more of the enchant room. For instance, a restore health Constant Effect with everything at zero will take 45 enchantment room. As you increase the amount of health it raises, that number goes up. So does the cast cost. The more effects and more magnitude make the number go up.
In a Cast When Used, the Charge of the ring must be higher than the Cost, and will determine how many times you can cast it. In a Constant Effect, the Charge must be higher than the Cost. The additional charge does not matter since you won't cast Constant Effect enchantments again and again. You can have the Charge 1 point more than the cost, and it will still work. In a Cast When Used, it may cost 5 points, and if you want to do it 6 or 7 times, have a charge of about 40. You can do this with an Alit, or even a Cliff Racer.
Well, I'm done for now. I'll finish up this little guide later, but right now I need to eat.

How do i capture a soul of any kind ?
Forsythe on 16/7/2002 at 22:15
Two things, CloudCleaver:
1) Have a soul gem capable of holding whatever you're gonna trap (a petty soul gem can hold rats, skeletons, etc, but can't hold a golden saint; that takes a grand soul gem or more)
2) Have a spell (Soul Trap), a scroll (E-something's Gem Feeder), or an enchanted item that can cast Soul Trap.
You can either cast soul trap on the critter while it's alive and try to kill it before your spell expires, or (if it leaves a corpse when it dies) you can kill it and cast soul trap on its corpse. Incidentally, you can soul trap something's corpse as many times as you have appropriate-sized soul gems.
Lastly, you cannot soul-trap NPCs that are of playable races (ie: can't trap Bosmer, Dunmer, Kahjit, etc.)

Psychic Prison is another good scroll to use (Paralyze + Soultrap for 30 seconds) it can be bought in Ebonheart, Chapels and Tel Vos, Services Tower.

*grin* I'm surprised how close I came though, w/out access to the editor ;)
Oh, btw, I've never had luck using an enchanted Soul Trap on a corpse, and I've heard a few others have had the same issue. Might be better to just learn the spell or carry around some scrolls.

Ok, I searched the forums and only found this thread. I need a Summon Golden Saint spell. The best I can find is a scroll, but I can only use that one time. If there is such a spell, who has it? Thanks :cheeky:

Hmm.. I was gonna say you didn't search hard enough, but I tried and can't find the post where I said such either; wierd.
Regardless, try Tel Branora; up on the same level as Mistress Therana, there's a mage that sells it.

Ahhhh, yes! The one I jacked a Staff from. Thanks, Forsythe!
