Hi. I want to edit the Thief The Dark Project cgf file to change the mission starter, that way I can play the missions that I wasn't able to play due to the fact the I played on Normal Mode. Apparently, by editing the dark.cgf file and changing the mission number to the mission I wish to play I can do that without having to play the whole game through again.

The USER.CFG file is what you want here. Just add the text "starting_mission X" to the file and substitute the number of the mission you want to start for X. Something like this:
for example, to start at
The Sword.

Ok, I edited the dark.cfg. The user.cfg is blank. I entered starting_mission 5 and when I played the game it started with the mission called The Sword.
So according to the walkthrough I am using, mission 5 is supposed to be Thieves Guild and mission 6 is The sword.
I want to get the chance to play Thieves Guild.
I am playing Thief The Dark Project with the tfix patch.

Do you have Thief Gold or The Dark Project installed? You said TDP, but Thieves Guild requires Thief Gold.
Edit: By the way, whatever difficulty level you're playing on (Normal/Hard/Expert) shouldn't affect what missions you get to play. If you played through the game and never got to Thieves Guild, then you probably don't have Thief Gold installed.

Ok that explains it then. I don't have Thief Gold. Well that bites. So in order to play those missions I need to buy Thief Gold right?
