Hey my Morrowind Brethren
I need all your help!
Can you become a vampire if you already beat the mainquest and have the 100% immunitty to common disease, corprus, and blight?
Plz answer if you know the answer!
Thx

AFAIK, you
can if you're already gotten 100% disease resistance, but you basically have to drink a Herculean quanitity of Lower Disease Resistance potions until you're resistance is low enough that you can catch it.
I've never tried it, but here's what they say in various threads at the Official Morrowind Forums:
1) Get a Weakness to Common Disease spell from someone (none of the threads mentioned WHO) at the Caldera Mages Guild and then make (or pay a Spellmaking mage to make) a version that you can cast on Self. Try and max out both the magnitude of the spell, and the duration.
2) Go visit a vampire clan. Do not, do not, DO NOT let yourself get infected by Any Old Vampire - it has to be someone from the 3 main Vampire Clans, or you won't be able to do any quests. (
http://www.buttersky.com/morrowind/#vampireclan) Click here if you need the exact location of one of the 3 clans.
Basically, they break down along traditional player-class lines: The Berne are thieves, the Aundae are warriors, and the Quarra are malevolent magicians (and they also suck out loud). When you're raiding the 3 clans headquarters for cool stuff (it's also perfectly acceptable to kill everyone in your own clan after you've completed their quests), the Quarra have the worst treasure of the three clans. And they are, for whatever reason, total wimps in combat. And their hideout is lame.3) Once there, cast the spell. You might have to do it several times. My guess is that the spell won't last that long, but then again, I could be WAY off-base, as I said. If it's long-lasting, you shouldn't have to wait until you're inside to cast it.
4) Get into a fight with a vampire. Let yourself get hit. Repeatedly. Eventually, you'll see "You have contracted Polymorphous Whatever." Leave. You can kill the vampire you're fighting with, or not. Run out, or use Recall, Divine Intervention, etc.
5) Rest 3 days. You're now a vampire.
6) Don't go out in the sun. Try and keep away from common areas with regular NPCs. You can safely go to Mages Guilds. They won't like you, but they won't attack you either. Note: it's a good idea to have the Master Propylon Index before becoming a vampire, as you can no longer safely get around in cities, and you can use the Silt Strider. And I'm not 100% sure that you can even use the Guild Guides in the Mages Guild.
Hope that helps. Again, if I've gotten anything wrong - forgive me - I've never tried it myself after getting the 100% Disease Resistance.

You can't use the mage guild transport. It's a real pain. I didn't have any indexes so I had to walk everywhere... *sigh* And if I were you, I'd find a place near the vampire clan HQ you were at before sleeping for 3 days, that way you don't have as far to go to come back. You can pick up your first quest and go.

hey frost, just find or cast mark spell (mysticism) near that clan you wish to join and after you rest for three days elsewhere just hit recall. Good luck, you gonna need it.

i've heard roumers about being a VAMPIRE, but i never thought you could become one! do i have vampirism? my eyes are dark purple, and if i sleep i wake up DeaD! i thought i had corpus! i killed that mad guy at the nerano tomb. was he a vampire?
RyushiBlade on 25/7/2003 at 21:51
Probably. You know you're a vampire if 1) Your face is white, 2) Your eyes have no pupils and look dead 3) You get hurt in the sun and 4) You can't sleep (if you sleep, you wake up after a dream and don't recover health.)

im a vampire! (sigh...)oh well, at least i know how to get cured....
BlackAsp on 25/7/2003 at 23:43
No way im gonna be one of them, you wont have much freedom anyway. I dont mind going around biting them and using them as cattles.
Morrowind is alittle different than the real vampire life. It is very complex! So I dont think it worth playing as a vamp in Morrowind, prob be boring as hell.
A few of my buddies mention this to me and it all seem about right. Im sure you will get the ideas what i am talking about. If not go around play as a vampire for a month then you should figure out why.
Anyway Frost good luck becoming a blood sucka! :cheeky:
Oh one more thing Frost, if you decide to stay with vampire besure to make a constant effect on regenerate health for day walker unless you want to be roasted out on the dirt road.
