you can find the best detector (and a gravi besides it) in the swamps right away at the beginning of the game if you explore the whole map (or get a guide). that helps alot. although some you can get even at the start with the help of many medkits/antirads.

I'm only aware of 3; Echo, Bear and Veles.
EDIT: Guess what, now I am in need of assistance. . . how the hell does one get the artifact from the vortex anomaly behind the entrance to X18? I can survive the radiation for a long time but I can't find that artifact, sometimes it seems like I'm standing on it but no go.
Another difficult one is the artifact in the vortex anomaly field near the car park in Garbage. I tried that one many times but always got killed. And to make things worse bandits seem to be frequent visitors in that area.

only 3 detectors i think. don't know about the vortex anomalies. maybe try throwing a grenade in there ? hehe, it helped in SOC sometimes...

Possible very minor spoilers follow:
I'm really torn between which suit to use. I bought a CS-1 suit when I left the swamps and gave it both durability upgrades and night vision, then got given the heavily upgraded sunrise suit which is awesome and I've fully upgraded. Only problem is that it has awful bullet protection and degrades pretty fast. I got a freedom exo for taking the duty base (and yet duty still spawn inside the base, despite it being occupied by freedom, what the fuck is up with that?!?). The exo is a no go for me at the moment though because I can't handle no sprint. The burat suit looks great but 0 artifact slots?!? I'm almost considering buying another sunrise suit and modding it with the armour/integrity/durability set of upgrades but given that I've already got a sunrise it seems like a waste so for the moment I'm waiting on finding/buying something better, perhaps a SEVA.
Also, what's up with the guardian of freedom suit? It seems like a slightly worse version of the CS-1 armour which I got ages ago. Are the upgrades any better for it or is it just plain crap?

i got the suit for free every time in the swamps. never had to buy anything ?

SEVA is probably the best suit when weighting the artifact containment/protection ratio.

Hmm, grenades sounds like a good idea. But I can't see it, only got a raw idea of its location with the help of Veles.
Though this early in the game it is probably not worth the effort.
