Ambient sound differences not considered, this isn't worse than the original ending. But it isn't good, funny or awesome either.

I had plans to rewrite the ending at some point, where Goggles eventually finds out that SHODAN has been with him, in his cyber-rig all the time. And he had been revived by her more than once to do the job for her (hence the suicide ghost scene of himself). At her final proposition he sees his first choice was right and kills himself again, not knowing how many more times he'd have to do this.

Tonamel even recorded some audio for a final speech of Goggles, but eventually I dropped the idea since it would have required more than re-cutting the final scene to get it right.
