I will turn 66 in a few months. I enjoy this community very much I visit at least once a day to look at the posts and to see if there has been a new mission announced.

Old enough to know better not to answer this question, a woman never tells her age. >_<

53 in August. Started in when Thief Gold was released and fell into dark love which never went away. The Metal Age was more of the same, and that was a good thing. Even enjoyed DS with reservations, but it was obvious that rivets were popping out of the series at that point. Had no interest in the 2014 reboot, and still don't. The VR does not look much more promising. Multiplayer Thief is an oxymoron, but The Dark Mod scratched the itch for quite some time before I got a reliable system for running the originals and fan missions in Linux, and indeed there a still quite a number of superlative missions available on that platform.

Yeah, I've been over on the Thief VR discord channel encouraging them to reach out to the community that has been keeping Thief alive all these years. When I first saw the trailer with Stephen Russell back voicing Garrett I was cautiously optimistic. Once I heard the devs giving the same marketing speak excuses for having anchor points for the rope arrows, just like Thief 2014 I lost hope. There has been a ton of feedback on why that was bad. The game looks to be built on the same engine, using the same mechanics, so I'm going to assume they haven't changed the core gameplay of Thief 2014 all that much. It seems like the game is pretty far along so I don't think any amount of constructive feedback will make a difference at this stage...or if it ever would really. I simply don't believe anyone out there is truly into making a low key, lower budget, Thief game that doesn't have to make AAA profits to succeed.

I'm now 53 and back in 1998 when shopping for Christmas gifts with my birthday money and I was in a store where I saw the staff putting a trapezoid box for thief the dark project on the shelf and asked them about it. They said it was just released that day so I bought it for myself.
Best purchase decision I ever made.

I've been playing the game since it was released
when was the first thief released?
I have been toying with the idea of creating a FANmission for a long time, but I have not yet found a German-speaking user who supports me as a beginner
especially the first steps. The best solution would be a video on YouTube or the like, in which step-by-step instructions can be seen
hope dies last :cheeky:

I'm a little sad that I didn't get the annual auto generated birthday message from TTLG this year. I'm not sure if I changed a setting or if there was a change to the page.
It seems that technical issues have made it difficult to keep running it. There are a number of problems with some email addresses, old extinct addresses and ones that think these are spam messages. And a number of other glitchy things has also contributed. End result: 'at the moment it was just not practical to keep it going when balanced against making sure that people were receiving registration emails or notifications for PMs or new posts'.
Maybe there'll be a workaround one day.

I love playing the Metal Age.
I don't like any of the other versions,
but I play them when there is no current FM for T2.
I recognize everyone's work, even for the other parts,
it's great that you guys exist and that you do the work to please us all...
Thanks a lot =D
By the way, I started playing Thief in 1998 and I'm 51 now.
