There are quite a few people working on levels. I've had a pretty good response to some questions I posed to the SA gaming forum, and it's given me a lot of confidence that what I'm making is what people will want to play.

I think once we get a T3 level or two released things will pick up. I'm on the case ;)

Looking forward to seeing what you bring to the Dark Mod scene. :)
So am I :D
Currently working on some outdoor textures and models for use in D3 - perhaps one day I will get good enough to be a beta mapper and enjoy TDM before the full two years (or however long it eventually takes).

Hmmm... After using T3Ed for few months I am wondering whether I should build my FM in T3Ed or wait for Dark Mod (another two years?)...
Even though it may take another two years until TDM is finished, that doesn't mean that mapping can not start earlier, because for creating a map you need to learn certain skills specific to D3, and of course, blocking out the map and texturing and everything takes a lot of time. So by the time TDM gets more ready and add new features you can add them into your map without compromising earlier work.

2 years? Probably not quite that long...

If your mission will be a generic one (generic means without [too much] special stuff, like complex scripting, weird use of stimuli etc.) , then go for it. I can't compare it to Dark Mod (who can?), but it should offer enough flexibility for this type of mission. But if you plan on making a lot of new and spectacular stuff, maybe creatures with amazing abilities, perhaps even controlled by scripts, better think twice. You will encounter T3Ed's limits sooner than you might think. I already did, and my demands were rather low.

I know what you mean. There are some really simple...(at least what I thought would be simple) things that I wanted to do in T3Ed...no can do. Things are locked up tight. I was lucky to be able to do the things I did in the Minimalist Project.

That about covers it. :erg:

Indeed. Initially I was hopeful...perhaps even naive. After hours spent running into one brick wall after another, that quickly turned into a feeling insufferable malaise.
I'm happy there is an editor, don't get me wrong...but be damned if I'm just too bloody depressed to use it.

So what was it you were trying to do that you found you couldn't?
