You know what I want? Weed. Lots of it. It's been 6 years since I fired up a fatty, and I'd kill for some now.
I NEED TO SELF MEDICATE!
What's up, Renz?

What I am seeing is a very heavy theme of Depression around the lot of you who have responded.
Please if you can: Take care of yourself and your mental health. If need be... please seek therapy
and continue to talk with others around us. Don't feel discouraged to keep taking, interacting
and reaching out. I know the majority of us (myself included) are gamers. The most or lot of us
have live in isolation and have practically prepared for something like this.
However if you are anything like me. Person to person chit chat, checking in with others or otherwise
helps realize that we aren't alone. Though I'm an introvert myself it doesn't mean I don't prefer to be
completely by myself, but I do enjoy my alone time. Everything has to have a balance. Don't give up.
I know how easy it can be for the many of us just to cave in and call it a night.
Yesterday I met up with a few friends where we ironically sat in a circle to see how everyone was doing
and where we were health wise. I've heard everything from the strains, COVID, Depression even those
we knew close and dear to our hearts die. Not because COVID is causing any of the related deaths, but
because like my late fiance (who had stage three throat cancer) couldn't get the needed treatment to
help himself.
So do yourself a favor. It won't hurt right now to have guardian angels. Keep tabs on people. Something
or anything small that will help you cope, adapt and move forward. For everyone's sake. You're not alone.
Not matter now many times your brain tries to convince you. We're still all here. Just more... distant.

Well shit man, I was up your way weekend before last. It was just a few days to visit Mathew Atchley and Cades Cove but everything screwed up. Mathew wasn't feeling sporty after surgery and no camp sites at Elkmont plus bumper to bumper traffic made us stay in Gatlinburg so we saw the new sky bridge and Ripley's museum and the remains of our ghost hotel before turning for home. Went through Chattanooga where I was stupid enough to listen to the GPS instead of taking 59 to Kimbal and 72. Why the crap do the signs say only Birmingham and Nashville when you want Huntsville? If I knew... I mean, I was close....
My state voted on medical weed this election. The only thing that might win that I voted for. Welllllll Biden but not by my states idiots.
Oh we were celebrating my wife not having liver cancer after all.

Update on the plan to put 30000 solar-panels next to my house. The city council (municipal council) voted tonight, in favor of an amendment that tells our Aldermen that the city council should be heard, and should decide, on any plan regarding large-scale solar-panels and wind-turbines. My municipal has 4 Aldermen (wethouders in Dutch, the english term might also be councilor) who kinda run city hall. Those 4 were gonna decide on whether the solar-field next to my house was gonna get a permit or not. Now it's all 23 members of the city council that get to decide.
One of them has spoken to all other council-members this week, and asked them about their opinion about the solar-field next to my house. He said that 21 of them were against the plan, and 2 were in favor. With such a large majority against the plan, I have great confidence that the plan will be shot down, no matter what. However, it's not 100% guaranteed. That count was not an official vote yet. Anything can happen in politics. And it might take a few months, or longer, to officially reject the plan. It's looking better, but the stress is not gone yet.
Another good thing is, I have been talking to an old colleague these last few weeks. It looks like he's gonna offer me a job. Hopefully starting this spring. Working 100% from home. The job is exactly what I want. I'm good at it too, so it shouldn't be a surprise they want to hire me. :) No need to fly abroad at the start of the job, because 2 of the 3 founders of that company know me personally. (We worked together in 2000-2001). Let's hope everything will be better coming this spring. Fuck 2020.
