Are you sure you haven't accidently hit the minimise arrow on the active user box? (It's in the top right corner)

:laff: :laff: :laff:
Didn't even know there was a minimize arrow and no idea how I did that. Comes of having loads of windows open at the same time, I expect. Case solved and Thank You!
PS. Sorry for the time wasting guys!

Really, I think I should be first because I'm clearly online the most.

Hit the PRINT SCREEN/SysReq key. Should be close to Scroll lock and Pause/Break on a standard keyboard.
Then open up Paint. (Start, All Programs, Accessories, Paint)
Hit Ctrl V or click Edit-Paste
You should have a capture of your screen.
Save it and upload it to Imageshack or something.

Thanks Taffer_Boy_Elvis, I understand now what I'm supposed to do but for some reason it doesn't work.
Anyway, I'm first again so that's OK. :)

You just *think* you are. ;->

Apparently this key did actually print the screen at one point. In most versions of Windows, it copies the current screen (with certain limitations) to the clipboard in BMP format, ready to be pasted elsewhere. Some games also dump the screen to a file. I distrust this behaviour. As pointed out, key combinations like Alt-PS will allow you to cap individual windows or monitors.

But I am - it says so!!!!
@ AxTng1 - well I don't know the ins and outs of these things. I know I can do a screenshot just fine in Thief. I did, at one point, have to reconfigure my keyboard which had a distressing habit of confusing " with @ and found a nifty little tool called something I've forgotten which rearranged it for me. Perhaps it changed other things as well. But I did try every configuration of F + alt, ctrl, shift etc. etc. So, history or otherwise, I am quite puzzled. Perhaps I'm not 'selecting' properly. Anyway, no matter, I can see me now and know I exist. Which is nice.

'@' is shift-2 on an American keyboard
'"' is shift-2 on a UK keyboard
Sounds to me like you just needed to change your keyboard type in the control panel and didn't need a separate utility.

Probably Lansing, I can get over-enthusiastic about things - especially free utilities!! I'll certainly try that on the other keyboard that's screwy. Thank you.
